Hello Month 2 Master, it’s nice to re-meet you. You may ask, why are you bringing this back after such a long hiatus? Well, let me tell you.
So much of our world is driven by relationships, including professional advancement. Meeting new people for professional reasons is something I put on the back burner for a while, but lately I’ve realized the importance of this to continue to learn about opportunities in my career.
This is why I’m dedicating an entire month of M2M to networking. I hope that this concrete plan will keep me motivated and hold me accountable for what I want to do.
Here’s my mission statement:
Within the next month, I will have completed or set up five networking meetings so that I can understand my development areas and build toward my future opportunities. Signs of my progress will include setting up meetings, conducting the meetings, and having clarity about how I can use my time and energy to grow professionally, and applying the learnings to a future personal projects.
Here’s my action statement:
The networking activities I will conduct are contacting relevant folks I met at conferences or through friends, identifying new folks to contact, preparing thoughtful questions for my meetings, and following up after my meetings.
Project Plan:
- Week 1
- Publish M2M post
- Compile initial list of folks to chat with
- Week 2
- Research scripts to use for networking outreach
- Make initial outreach contacts
- Week 3
- Conduct initial networking interviews
- Follow up with folks that did not respond to initial contact
- Week 4
- Conduct initial networking interviews
- Follow up again with folks that did not respond to initial contact
- Send follow up after completed interviews
- Week 5

I’ll check in at the end of the month. Happy June.
