Bill Simmons and the Journey to Success

On his latest edition of the B.S. Report, ESPN writer and Grantland founder Bill Simmons was celebrating the 20th anniversary of ESPN.com, and for that occasion, he opened up about his journey to where he is today. He described his path from college graduate working at newspaper to ESPN mega-personality today. Simmons says he almost quit twice, after leaving the Boston Globe in 1996 and in 2000 after not getting hired by ESPN. This shows that success isn’t a linear path; success is hard to achieve. You just have to work hard, pursue opportunities, and know that there are no guarantees in this world. Enjoy and appreciate the journey, because in the end that matters more than the destination.
